上映プロジェクト「FRAGMENT THEATRE 2 / 透明吐息」をネクストウェーブ2010のスクリーニングプログラム"The Ultimate Time Lapse Megamix"で開催します。
The 2010 Next Wave Festival（メルボルン）での野外スクリーニング部門「The Ultimate Time Lapse Megamix」にて、フラグメントシアター２「透明吐息」が開催されます。本タイトルが示す通り、野外上映会場となるフェデレーションスクエアに戯れる鑑賞者と同様、ストリートを舞台にアーティストたちが映し出した街の呼吸の断片を巨大スクリーンにて３日間連続で野外上映します。
In this 1 hour program of outdoor projection a collection of work centered around the theme of "Clearly Breathing" takes as its stage the multiple regionsof Japan, and from the same perspective of the viewers gathering in plaza, offers a myriad of fragments refracted from these living, breathing landscapes.

Zendai Museum of Modern Art, Shanghai China
The project originates from a kind of Japanese traditional dance. In many Asian cultures, lion has always been a symbol of power.
The workshop entitled "lionmask" has been conducted in Japan. It aims to revive traditional customs in this brand new modern society.
The artist will prepare some paper-made stuffs such as used paper boxes and second-hand magazines for children participating. The children can cut these stuffs and create the image of the guardian angle (an extended meaning of lion) in their own minds. Finally, the children will wear their works, trying to gain power from the guardian angle they create, and pick up a place they like to be taken a picture.

Over the last three years, Artist Initiative CommandN has coordinated and run a series of exhibitions: KANDADA/Project Collective, introducing a variety of art projects from Japan and overseas, with an objective to actively research the possibilities of interaction between contemporary art and local society. In 2008 this activity developed into a broader research project on artist-driven, independent art projects within Asia.
Chosen from amongst a number of organizations visited in this Asian research project, Richard Streitmatter-Tran from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been invited to KANDADA as a guest artist. He will present his work for the first time in Japan, and also appear as a panelist in an associated symposium. Having spent his early years in the USA, Richard is able to observe objectively the contemporary art scene in Vietnam and the states of the Mekong subregion. His activities can be said to be firmly rooted in his unique position as someone with one foot in the West and one in the East, and in his experience of living in both contrasting social regimes.
On research trips, members of CommandN have visited Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and other countries to interview artists and organizations actively involved in alternative art activities in each region, and to view their facilities. Footage of these interviews will be screened and documentation, in the form of a mini reference library, will be displayed for a limited period during the exhibition. CommandN would like to introduce the activities of the groups they have met as examples of the possibilities they offer to those seeking alternatives to the existing art establishment and its framework.

■About intrude: Art & Life 366
On January 1st Zendai MoMA launched Intrude: Art & Life 366, a project that will realize a total of 366 art-related events in Shanghai throughout the year. Events include exhibitions, site-specific public installations, performances, concerts, film screenings and lectures. The main objective of this project is to redefine and generate discussions among those working in the creative industries in Shanghai. All events can be accessed online through the Intrude website. Zendai will likewise archive and update progress on the project through periodically published catalogues and magazines. Intrude was initiated by Zendai Director Shen Qibin and is curated by Biljana Ciric, curator of the 2006 Singapore Biennale's China section. ]]>

For 15 years between infancy and high school Sakano passed the village bridge every day on the way to school and frequently used it as a place to play, but when the evening came this bridge was wrapped in darkness. One day, when he had just entered elementary school, a school friend and he decided to face this darkness. He remembers secretly stealing out one night, with his father's suit, sunglasses and bag, on a small adventure. Then when he was in high school a girl, who had transferred from somewhere in Kanto, said to him, as They were talking beneath the bridge, "when I pass through this darkness on my way home I feel like it could lead to another world which won't let me back", these words at that time were like a torch, illuminating the unseen future, such was their impact. The reference of this work "THE DARKNESS MAY LEAD TO A WORLD BEYOND" is an allusion to this. From that day when he took a small trip in the middle of the night, to now, after the days and months of over 20 years have passed, he again recall my childhood friend at night, and go out on a small trip of curiosity. And with a suitcase of the girl's illuminating words as my torch - He climbs the bridge.]]>
